Ode to Papa

Among machines and men the man has always lived,
Running and fighting to build his business ‘being’,
He stops not for emotions or culture,
He has bigger religion – in that which is his work.

For years, he has run,
Stayed away from home,
And stayed away from us,
And in his big heart he carries all and all,
Memories of us and the love of all he knows,
He cries sometimes and that is not in vain,
He works to make everyone of us a little gain.

He keeps his friends close,
Closer than all he has got,
They mean as much as we mean to him,
It takes sheer magnanimity,
To forget all the pain,
And love with all you’ve got.
